Our world-class practice facility was designed with a clear purpose in mind - to help you get the most out of your game at Southwood

Practice Facility

  • The 15-acre practice facility is one of the best in Canada. The superb conditions of the practice area are a top priority for the club. You might never get out on the course once you discover the expanse of our double-ended practice fairway and other features including:
  • 100 yard wide practice tee area with a variety of targets
  • 8,000 square foot chipping green that allows players to practice pitching from up to 80 yards on three sides
  • 10,000 square foot putting green
  • Practice fairway bunker area
  • Practice bunker green
  • The chance to move around and test your skills amidst the surrounding glory of rolling landscape, open space and historic sightlines can only be good for your game.

Golf Academy

While practice is key, sometimes you need some help from a higher power. Our CPGA Professionals and well-trained staff provide a number of quality instructional programs available through our Golf Academy. Courses, academies and instructional packages are available to help improve every shot in your bag.

Depending on the package you choose, features may include:
  • Private lessons
  • Group clinics
  • Video analysis
  • Biomechanical screening/ fitness follow-up
  • Complete club fitting
  • On-course sessions
  • Equipment evaluation

We pride ourselves in the successful development of all our members of all ages. Junior boys’ and junior girls’ clinics and programs are available to foster skill devel¬opment and a love of the game for these important emerging golfers. Our popular little swingers program provides basic golf knowledge and skills to young players. Regular instructional programs are also available. We’re always here when you need us.
